Happy Mother's Day - A Poem by Erma Bombeck
Most women become mothers by accident, some by choice, a few by social pressures and a couple by habit.
This year nearly 100,000 women will become mothers of handicapped children. Did you ever wonder how mothers of handicapped children are chosen?
Somehow I visualize God hovering over earth selecting his instruments for propagation with great care and deliberation. As He observes, He instructs His angels to make notes in a giant ledger.

I'm so sorry it took me so long to respond!
You have a lovely family. May I ask where in Italy your family is originally from? My husband and his family (including my sister-in-law Marisa, who is Rosie's mom) are from Maierato, a small town in Calabria, and Marisa's husband is from another small town about fifteen miles away. I ask because I'm wondering if mutations in the GAN gene are more common in people from that particular part of Italy, and if it might be worth doing some investigating to see if there are or have been any other GAN patients there.
We are all well - thanks for asking. How are you and your family? Tell everyone that we said hi. Its been a while since I've been on here and it's good to see that there are a few new members. The GAN community is growing fast.
